Check out my latest article on @engine2diet’s blog, “The Daily Beet!” Wondering why so many people in the plant-based community are gradually getting rid of the oil in their diets? Wondering what all of the hype is about? It’s all in here! It wasn’t easy for me, but it’s 100% possible and 100% worth it. Plus there are a few pictures of my favorite plant-based oil-free dishes. Check it out! It’s also posted on my FB page, “Plant-Based Wellness.” Links is in my profile!

Iced green tea to start the day! Did you know that green tea is the least processed type of tea? It’s made from unoxidized leaves, therefor giving it this highest levels of antioxidants and polyphenols, which provide anti-carcinogenic and anti-inflammatory effects. Although 1 cup of green tea only provides about half of the caffeine found in coffee, it’s much less acidic and has a lot more health benefits. Antioxidants, which are found at high levels in green tea, help to fight free-radicals in the body, which can alter DNA, damage cell membranes and cause the “bad” cholesterol (LDL) to clog arteries. Plus, it’s less likely you’ll go through caffeine withdrawal & get headaches when drinking green tea, and there’s no more coffee breath! My favorite brand is Prince of Peace. If you’re looking for sweetness, try adding a few drops of stevia to your tea!

Only the best at @seedtosprout. I swear there’s kale under there… And it’s marinated in lemon juice, nutritional yeast & sea salt! Topped with kraut (homemade at the restaurant!), shredded carrots & beets and pico de gallo. Drizzled, of course, with homemade tahini dressing. Couldn’t resist! #seedtosprout
